Follow-up Meeting (October 2024) 📢📢
The Consortium of project VALMEDALM held on 3 and 4 of October 2024, a Follow-Up Meeting followed by a visit to Croatian demo site! In this Meeting each partner reported on the ongoing activities, addressed problems and difficulties driven from the execution of the project, and discussed the data collection from the demo sites.
VALMEDALM on TV (October 2024) 📢📢
VALMEDALM project aired on Croatian national television on the program "Fruits of the earth". Dr. Frane Strikic (UNIST), Dr. Alexandre Gonçalves (MORE), Dr. Valeria Borsellino (UNIPA), Dr. Adnane El-Yaacoubi (USMS) and Dr. Lillian Barros (IPB) explained explain the project and the principal contributions of the project for the almond cultivation on the Mediterranean area. VALMEDALM on TV 🇭🇷 (April 2023)
The Croatian partners have promoted project VALMEDALM on national television. Dr. Frane Strikic and colleagues presented the project on the program "Plodovi zemlje", under the name "Kad bajamici zamirišu" which translates to "When the almond smell". Kick-off meeting of project VALMEDALM (June 2022) 📢📢👏
The kick-off meeting of project VALMEDALM was held online on the June 8th 2022. Work package leaders and team members of the project consortium were present at the meeting. The main goal of the Kick-Off meeting was to agree on the VALMEDALM Action Plan and to generally introduce the project highlights and the detailed Work Packages.💧🌿🌾🔅🌨 The project Kick-Off Meeting was an occasion for partners to get to know each other better and to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation of the project.

VALMEDALM in Spain (October 2024)
VALMEDALM project was represented by the partner CNCFS in the XIII Congresso Nacional de Entomologia Aplicada em Gijón that took place in Gijón from 7-11 of October 2024.
VALMEDALM in Croatia (October 2024)
VALMEDALM project was represented in the 1st STEcoMed2024 that took place in Split from 2-3 of October 2024. During these days, the partners MORE, IPB, CNCFS, USMS and INRA presented the VALMEDALM project, and some of the results obtained so far.
VALMEDALM in Vila Real (October 2024)
VALMEDALM project was represented by IPB in the XVII Encontro Nacional Química dos Alimentos that took place in Vila Real from 9-11 of October 2024.
VALMEDALM in Ragusa Ibla 🇮🇹 (June 2024)
VALMEDALM was represented by Dr. Valeria Borsellino and Università degli Studi di Palermo at the XXXII National Conference of the Italian Society of Agro-food Economics (SIEA) that took place in Ragusa Ibla (Sicily, Italy), from 27th to 29th of June. The event brought together over 130 agri-food economists to explore the frontiers of innovation and sustainability, particularly concerning the carbon footprint and the long-term durability of productive activities. During the conference, the VALMEDALM project and the planned research and experimentation activities were promoted.
VALMEDALM in Anacapri 🇮🇹 (September 2024)
VALMEDALM was represented by Dr Marcello D'Acquisto at the LX Convegno Sidea "Dalla strategia Farm-To-Fork all’approccio One-Health Soluzioni Per Il Modello Agricolo Europeo Alla Luce Dei Nuovi Scenari Economici," that took place in Anacapri (Italy) from September 15th to 17th, 2024. Dr Marcello D'Acquisto delivered the presentation titled "VALorization of MEDiterranean ALMond orchards through the use of intercropping integrated strategies: first economic results."
VALMEDALM in Portugal 🇵🇹 (March 2024)
On March 8, CNCFS and MORE organised a seminar at Alfândega da Fé (Portugal) with local producers followed by a technical field visit.
VALMEDALM in Portugal 🇵🇹 (June 2024)
On June 17th, MORE in association with the Portuguese partner CNCFS organized a Workshop in Corujas, Macedo de Cavaleiros (Portugal) with local producers followed by a visit to the Portuguese demosite. This event was the opportunity to disseminate some results on the use of intercropped practices in almond trees to producers in the region.
VALMEDAL in Porto (November 2023)
Partner Instituto Politécnico de Bragança 🇵🇹, participated in the XXVII Encontro Luso-Galego de Química that is taking place in Porto between 22 and 24 of November. One oral and one poster communication were presented.
VALMEDALM in Zagreb (March 2024)
VALMEDALM was represented by Dr. Frane Strikic - University of Split 🇭🇷 at the 17th Conference of Croatian Fruit Growers, held on March 6, in Zagreb.
VALMEDALM in Morocco (November 2023)
More 🇵🇹 has participated in the SmaCuMed International Conference on Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus in the Mediterranean (WEFE2023) which took place from 15th to 17th November 2023 in the Mohamed VI Museum of Water Civilization in Marrakech, Morocco. One oral communication and two poster communications were presented.
VALMEDALM in PRIMA day (November 2023)
As coordinator of Valmedalm, Alexandre Gonçalves of More 🇵🇹 presented the project and had very important discussions with PrimaProgram and partners from other ongoing projects.

VALMEDALM was represented by Dr. Frane Strikic and Sveučilište u Splitu - University of Split in the European Night of Researchers, held on Friday, September 29, 2023, in Split.
VALMEDALM in Morocco (November 2023)
MORE 🇵🇹 visited the Superior School of Technology of the Université Sultan Moulay Slimane in Khenifra and the Institut National de la Recherhe Agronomique in Meknès. They have also visited the experimental fields of the Moroccan demosite, in Ain Taoujdate, together with researchers from both institutions.
